Harpers Ferry!

Please join us for Harpers Ferry Olde Tyme Christmas on December 5th, 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th and 20th.

Whether you are looking for quiet beauty or a place alive with echoes of history, you will find it in this village at the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers.

Enjoy the spectacular energy of the rivers cutting through the Blue Ridge Mountains, but know it is the charming old town filled with people obviously enjoying themselves that will make you want to come back.

In 1783 Thomas Jefferson was captivated by Harpers Ferry. He wrote:
You stand on a very high point of land. On your right comes up the Shenandoah, having ranged along the foot of the mountain an hundred miles to seek a vent. On your left approaches the Potowmac, in quest of a passage also. In the moment of their junction they rush together against the mountain, rend it asunder and pass off to the sea.

Today the Harpers Ferry National Historic Park surrounds the town, providing visitors with tours, museums, hiking and biking trails, and restored 19th century streetscapes – all within easy walking distance of the living village. In Harpers Ferry real people live in charming antebellum homes and B&B’s. Restaurants serve contemporary food in historic settings, and the town is lively with artisans, unique little shops, bookstores, antiquarians, and whitewater enthusiasts.
