On July 23, 2015, fire destroyed nine businesses and two residences in the historic commercial district of Harpers Ferry. While the after-effects were felt by everyone in the community, they were especially devastating to those who lost their businesses, jobs, or homes. We established the Renew Harpers Ferry fund to aid these individuals and to spur the renewal of our business district. Administered by a three-member committee, all monies distributed have gone to these relief and recovery efforts.
“Thanks to the resilience of our merchants, two of the three buildings that were damaged in the fire have been fully restored and are once again filled with businesses.”
